Dr. Shahanaz Meer completed her medical training in 2001 from NTR university of Health Sciences in India. After attaining her bachelor’s in medicine and surgery, she continued to work in various hospitals from 2002 to 2014, with a particular focus on Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
She then migrated to Australia in 2014 along with her husband Dr Basheer, a prosthodontist, and her two young daughters. Since then, she has been working as a general practitioner in Queensland and received her fellowship from RACGP in 2019.
In addition to her interest in women’s and paediatric health, her skillset has expanded to include skin cancer diagnosis and aesthetic medicine. Following her passion for skin cancer detection, she received her diploma in Dermoscopy in 2022 and hopes to complete her professional diploma in skin cancer surgery in the near future.
Outside of the medical field she enjoys reading books, cooking international cuisine and spending time with her children.
